Since joining TFX in 2006, Wataru Ito has been responsible for designing exchange rules and operating schemes and formulating and implementing the exchange’s corporate strategies. Notably Mr. Ito masterminded the establishment of the Margin Contract Market Division and contributed to expanding the exchange’s revenue base. He has been appointed Managing Director and Member of the Board since 2011 before assuming Executive Officer in 2009.
Mr. Ito earned bachelor degree from faculty of law at Kyoto University.

He also holds official positions as a member the Regulatory Reform Council and the FSA Financial System Council. He was appointed Deputy Director General of Headquarters of the Governor of Tokyo in 2007. Thereafter, he became Deputy Director General and Director General of Bureau of Industrial and Labor Affairs, and became Director General of Headquarters of the Governor of Tokyo. He was nominated as Vice Governor of Tokyo Metropolitan Government in 2013.

Takao Ochi was appointed Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Cabinet Office in September 2014. He is in charge of financial services, administrative and regulatory reform, women’s empowerment, and measures for the declining birthrate. He served as secretary to a member of the House of Representatives and Executive Secretary to the Minister of State before he was elected to the House of Representatives for the first time in September 2005. He is currently serving his third term as a member of the House of Representatives. During his past terms at the House of Representatives, he served as Director of the Committee on Financial Affairs and also as a member of the Committee on Budget and the Committee on Economy, Trade and Industry. He started his career as a banker in April 1986, joining Sumitomo Bank (now Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation). During his 13 years at the bank, he engaged in developing new business in cross-border financial services and securities business amidst financial liberalization in Japan. He obtained a BA in economics from Keio University in March 1986, and a diploma from ESSEC Business School, France, in June 1991. He completed the Master Program at the University of Tokyo Graduate Schools for Law and Politics in March 2005.
Mr. Hisashi Ono

Hisashi Ono is Deputy Director-General of the Planning and Coordination Bureau of Financial Services Agency (FSA), where he is responsible for overall planning and policy making of financial system, planning and policy making concerning securities markets and other financial markets, monitoring and analyzing these markets and supervision of exchanges. Mr. Ono is also Director-General of the Office for Regional Economy Vitalization Cooperation Japan (REVIC), where he is responsible for planning and policy making regarding the REVIC as well as supervising the REVIC.
From August 2012 to July 2014, Mr. Ono was Deputy Director-General of the Supervisory Bureau, where he was responsible for supervising regional financial institutions, insurance companies, and Deposit Insurance Corporation of Japan. From July 2011 to July 2012, Mr. Ono was Deputy Director-General of the Planning and Coordination Bureau, where he was responsible for planning and policy making of credit and insurance system.Prior to the FSA, he worked for the Asian Development Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank. Mr. Ono graduated from the College of Arts and Science, University of Tokyo in 1983.

He has held his current position as Member of the Bank of Japan’s Policy Board since July 2012.
Mr. Jesper Koll

Koll has been researching and investing in Japan since becoming a resident in 1986. Before joining JPMorgan in December 2009, he was the president and CEO of Tantallon Research Japan KK, a Tokyo-based investment advisory firm he set up in June 2007. Previously, he served as the chief economist of Merrill Lynch Japan for eight years. Before that, he was a Managing Director at the Tiger Fund and before that he was the Chief Economist for JPMorgan in Tokyo. For the first three years of his Japan experience, he worked as an aide to a Member of Parliament.
Over the past two decades, Koll has been consistently ranked as one of the top Japan strategists/economists. His analysis and insights have earned him a spot on several Japanese government advisory committees. He has written two books in Japanese, Towards a New Japanese Golden Age and The End of Heisei Deflation. He is also one of the few non-Japanese members of the Keizai Doyukai, the Japan Association of Corporate Executives.
Jesper has a masters degree from the School of Advanced and International Studies at Johns Hopkins University and was a research fellow at both Tokyo University and Kyoto University. He is a graduate of the Lester B. Pearson College of the Pacific.
Mr. Tatsuya Terazawa

Tatsuya Terazawa has served as Director-General responsible for oversight over commodities derivatives among other duties since June 2013. Prior to this assignment, from December 2012 to June 2013 he was Deputy Director-General, Economic and Industrial Policy Bureau and participated in the drafting of the New Growth Strategy of June 2013, the so-called third arrow of the “Abenomics”. From September 2011 to December 2012, he was Executive Assistant to Prime Minister Yoshio Noda after engaging in making various economic policies. He joined METI in 1984. He received a B. A. in Law from the University of Tokyo in 1984 and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1990.

Walt Lukken is the President and CEO of the FIA, a Washington, D.C.-based trade association that represents participants in the regulated, listed and cleared derivatives markets. He is also CEO of FIA Global, overseeing the affiliation of FIA, FIA Europe and FIA Asia. FIA’s membership includes the world’s largest derivatives clearing firms as well as leading derivatives exchanges and clearinghouses from more than 20 countries. The FIA serves to uphold fair and competitive markets, protect the public interest through adherence to high standards of professional conduct and financial integrity, and promote public trust and confidence in the regulated markets for listed and cleared derivatives.
Walt previously was CEO of New York Portfolio Clearing, the derivatives clearinghouse jointly owned by NYSE Euronext and the Depository Trust and Clearing Corp. Before joining the private sector in 2009, Walt served as Acting Chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission for 18 months, a period that included the financial crisis of 2008 and as CFTC Commissioner since 2002.
Prior to joining the CFTC, Walt served for five years as counsel on the professional staff of the U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee under Chairman Richard Lugar. He received his B.S. degree with honors from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and his Juris Doctor degree from Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon.

Akihiro Wani is Senior Counselor of Ito & Mitomi (Registered Associated Offices of Morrison & Foerster LLP) with more than 30 years of experience in the capital markets arena. He has been a Professor of Law at Sophia University Law School in Tokyo since 2004 and has written and lectured on various legal issues relating to the international capital markets. He acts as counsel for the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, Inc. (ISDA) in Japan and as a Finance Expert of P.R.I.M.E. Finance. He also serves as a member of the Financial Law Board sponsored by the Bank of Japan. From time to time he served as a member of the Financial Services Agency’s Financial System Council or another one of its Working Groups. He is a specialist in derivatives and structured finance transactions, and his practice covers various international finance and business transactions including the provision of regulatory advice.
Prior to joining Ito & Mitomi / Morrison & Foerster LLP in May 2014, he was a founding bengoshi partner at Linklaters in Tokyo, where he served as joint managing partner from 2005 to 2012.

William Knottenbelt serves as Senior Managing Director, International of CME Group. He is responsible for overseeing the company's core business growth, customer relationships and new business opportunities throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Asia and Latin America. Previously, Knottenbelt served as Senior Managing Director, EMEA.
Prior to joining CME Group in 2011, Knottenbelt served as Global Head of Futures for the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) where he built out the global reach and product offering of RBS futures. He also served as Global Head of Central Counterparty Clearing where he worked on developing the bank's over-the-counter clearing solutions. Knottenbelt held a number of leadership roles at RBS and its affiliates during the past 25 years, including Global head of Futures, FX and Interest rate derivatives prime brokerage. His early career at JPMorgan was as an equity derivatives sales trader before moving on to manage firstly the F&O Sales Team and subsequently the F&O business in EMEA then the F&O business globally.

Yoshinori SUZUKI is Executive Vice President & Chief Information Officer of Japan Exchange Group, Inc. He began his career at Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation (currently NTT) where he was Senior Manager of Financial Systems Division and Senior Executive Manager of the Second Financial Systems Division before serving on the NTT Board of Directors beginning in June 2001. Dr. Izumi Kazuhara serves as Executive Director, Head of Japan of CME Group. Based in Tokyo, Dr. Kazuhara is responsible for developing growth opportunities and customer relationships for CME Group throughout Japan.
Prior to joining the company in June 2012, Dr. Kazuhara gained extensive experience in the derivatives exchange industry, having previously worked as Chief Representative for Japan at NYSE Euronext and as Head of Japan Strategy at Eurex. Before his entry into the derivatives exchange business in 2000, he was involved in academic research as a post graduate student focusing on subjects in international economic and European competition law.
In addition to a PhD in Law from Frankfurt University, Dr. Kazuhara also has a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws from Sophia University, Tokyo.

Tae Seok Clement Yoo serves as Managing Director and Head of Client Business Development & FIC Development department. Mr. Junichi Maruyama is the Head of Government Affairs for Citigroup Japan Holdings Corp., a position he has held since July 2013. In this capacity, he is responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with key government and regulatory officials in Japan. Previously, he was Vice Chairman and member of the Board of Directors of Citibank Japan Ltd. since January 2011. He joined Citibank Japan Ltd. as Senior Advisor in October 2010.
Prior to joining Citi, Mr. Maruyama served in the Japanese government for more than 33 years, working in the Ministry of Finance, the Financial Services Agency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Immediately before joining Citi, Mr. Maruyama served as Head of Yokohama C
In July 2006, Mr. Maruyama was appointed as Deputy Commissioner for International Affairs of the Japanese Financial Services Agency. He was a key member of the Financial Stability Board, Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, International Organization of Securities Commissions (Securities regulators forum) and other international regulatory bodies to represent the Japanese regulator.
Since August 2004 Mr. Maruyama worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for two years as Deputy Director-General of the European Affairs Bureau. There he was in charge of all diplomatic issues with European countries including political, security and economic matters.
For seven years from 1997 to 2004, Mr. Maruyama experienced various Directors’ positions in the International Bureau of the Ministry of Finance. In particular, Mr. Maruyama served as Director of Foreign Exchange and Money Market Division from 1997 to 2000, where he was engaged in foreign exchange market monitoring and interventions as well as Japanese government’s foreign reserve management.
Mr. Maruyama received a Bachelor of Law from University of Tokyo in 1977 and a Master of Public and International Affairs from Princeton University in 1981.
Yasuo Mogi

Mr. Yasuo Mogi has served various leading roles in international financial markets for over 40 years. This includes the management of large scale businesses in the global derivatives industry with his former role as Vice Chairman of Newedge Japan Inc, a Joint Venture combining Societe Generale and Credit Agricole’s Calyon Financial in 2008. Until his joining with the firm, he was Senior Executive Vice president of Himawari CX, Inc. Previously he was Representative Director and Tokyo Branch Manager of Prudential Bache Futures Ltd., and Managing Director of Gerald Far East Ltd.
As a part of his industrial activities, he was a founder and a Board Member of Futures Industry Association Japan, “General Incorporated Association” (“Ippan Shadan Hojin”) since its inception of the legacy organization in 1989 where he served as Chairman of various committees while his acting as a member of the Executive Committee of the Association. He assumed the role of Vice Chairman in May 2013. He has been counseled for industrial development by various organizations including Japan Federation of Bar Association for the customer protection policies, Domestic and Foreign Regulatory Offices, as well as Exchanges and Industry Associations.
Mr. Mogi has been inducted as a member of FIA’s Futures Hall of Fame in 2011 resulted from contribution of his efforts bridging the gap between Japan and global markets. He was also One of Top 30 Most Influential People in past 30 years recognized by Futures Option World in 2012.
Peter Jaeger
Vice President & Director, FIA Japan
Mr. Jaeger has a 25-year career as a futures professional, most recently serving as Managing Director and Asia Pacific Regional Head of Futures & Options and OTC Clearing at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, a position he has held since December 2012. Prior to that he was with JP Morgan for 15 years, where he headed the London Futures Desk and then served as Japan & Korea Country Head of Futures & Options and OTC Clearing. Mr Jaeger has been a Public Director on the board of Tokyo Commodities Exchange (TOCOM) for the past four years, as well as being Vice President and Director of FIA Japan and a Director of FIA Asia. Mr Jaeger received a BA in Japanese Studies from Columbia University in New York in 1981 and completed the Special Course in Japanese at Tokyo University for Foreign Studies as a visiting scholar sponsored by Japan’s Ministry of Education in 1982.
Mitch R. Fulscher

Mr. Fulscher has over 30 years’ experience consulting for financial institutions with a specialty in derivatives and capital markets. Based in Tokyo, he is the President & CEO of Futures Industry Association Japan (FIA Japan).
For the past years, Mitch has been serving as an independent Director (“Kansayaku”) of Aozora Bank, and he has provided consulting services to derivatives exchanges in Japan and the US. Mitch is also an Associate of Leo Melamed’s firm – Melamed & Associates. He has served as lecturer on Corporate Governance at Hitotsubashi University Graduate School - International Law.
In prior years, Mitch was a Partner with Arthur Andersen in Chicago. He transferring to Tokyo in 1986 to establish Andersen's Capital Market Practice. After returning to the U.S. he was directing Andersen's financial markets practice in California until again returning to Tokyo as Senior Partner in 1997.
