Amane Oshima

CEO of JICT

Amane Oshima graduated from Keio University’s Faculty of Economics in 1984 and began his career at the Industrial Bank of Japan (now Mizuho Bank), where he spent over 30 years in global markets, covering bond investment, foreign currency ALM, and derivatives sales across Europe, the U.S., and Asia.

 

Following the 2008 financial crisis, he led foreign currency ALM and bond investment as General Manager of the International Treasury Division. From 2014 to 2018, he headed Mizuho Bank’s Global Markets Division as Managing Executive Officer.

 

Prior to his current role, he served as President & CEO of Mizuho-Digital Financial Technology, where he drove innovation in financial engineering, data analytics, AI, and quantum computing for three years. Since June 2021, he has been President & CEO of JICT (Japan ICT Fund), supporting Japanese companies in their global expansion within the ICT sector through a public-private fund.

In June 2024, he concurrently became Senior Advisor to Barclays Securities Japan. He has served as Auditor of ISDA Japan since 2018.

James Marsden


Managing Director, Head of Post Trade, Asia Pacific
Broadridge Japan
 

James Marsden leads Broadridge’s Post-Trade business across Asia Pacific, working closely with clients, partners, and market infrastructure providers to navigate regulatory change, anticipate market trends, and deliver innovative solutions that help firms achieve their strategic goals. 


He previously served as Managing Director, APAC Business Development and Strategy, where he played a key role in expanding Broadridge’s footprint across the region. Prior to that, James was General Manager of Broadridge Japan for 13 years, where he transformed the business from start-up stage into one of the company’s largest operations in Asia. 
 

A subject matter expert in post-trade workflow automation, James has extensive experience in central securities depository (CSD) and Central Clearing Party (CCP) connectivity and has led multiple market infrastructure projects across Japan, Australia, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Over the course of his career at Broadridge, he has held roles spanning project management, business analysis, architecture, and software development—contributing to the success of numerous client implementations of Broadridge’s global post-trade platform. 
 

Based in Tokyo, James is a permanent resident of Japan and fluent in Japanese, with more than 25 years of experience living and working in the country. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Computer Science from the University of Liverpool.

Makoto Nagahori

President and CEO, Phillip Securities Japan, Ltd.

Makoto Nagahori is currently President and CEO in Phillip Securities Japan since July 2021. He joined Nomura in 1999 after graduating from Tokyo University. From 2006 to 2009, he worked for the US equity trading business for Nomura Securities International and Instinet LLC in New York. From 2009 to 2013, he was in charge of the electronic trading business in Instinet Japan Limited and Nomura Tokyo. From 2013 to 2016, he was President and Representative Director at Chi-X Japan Limited. Before joining in Phillip Securities Japan, he was running electronic trading service desk in Morgan Stanley MUFG Securities (MSET), since 2017.

From 1988 to 1989, Studied at New York University under the corporate overseas education program
 
From 1991 to 2003, posted U.S. incorporated FCM, Tokyo General USA, Inc., from 1998 served as local representative. Primarily broking and clearing U.S. commodity futures and options trading for Japanese trading house clients, as well as introducing U.S. and European commodity trading advisors (CTAs) to the Japanese futures markets.
 
2003  Joined Aura, Inc. (US subsidiary of formerly Nihon Unicom, now Nissan Securities) to run Introducing Broker (IB) and CTA businesses
 
2005 Launched GH Unicom Trading, a commodities proprietary trading joint venture in Tokyo and Hong Kong with Goldenberg Hehmeyer, serving as President. Focused mainly on gold and crude oil futures trading on CME and TOCOM.
 
2016  Returned to Japan to work for Nissan Securities headquarters in proprietary trading and the International Business Development Division.
 
2020 Joined Skipping Stone GK, the Japanese affiliate of U.S.-based power and gas consulting firm Skipping Stone LLC, as Executive Vice President.

Bob Takai

President & CEO, EEX Japan K.K.
 

Born in Osaka in 1958, Bob graduated from Kobe University and joined Sumitomo Corporation, where he held senior roles in metals, finance, and energy divisions. He served as President of Sumitomo Corporation Global Research and later as Chief Representative in Washington D.C. He has held public roles including board member of TOCOM and committee member of Japan’s Industrial Structure Council of METI. After retiring in 2020, he joined the European Energy Exchange (EEX) Group as Senior Advisor, leading the development of Japan’s power derivatives market. In 2024, he became President of EEX Japan. He regularly contributes to Nikkei on energy and commodity topics.

Yasuhiko Tamura
Executive Officer, Japan Securities Clearing Corporation

 

After joining Tokyo Stock Exchange in 1995, Mr. Tamura worked in the Stock Market, Clearing and Settlement, IT Planning and Development units, as well as on secondment to Nomura Research Institute, before serving as Director of the IT Development (Equities Trading Systems) Department from April 2018 and as Director of the Human Resources Department of parent company Japan Exchange Group, Inc. (JPX) from April 2022.
 

As Director in charge of Equities Trading Systems, he worked on improving system resilience, and as Director of the Human Resources Department, he promoted initiatives related to human capital management.
 

Since April 2024, he has been serving as Executive Officer of Japan Securities Clearing Corporation (JSCC), the clearing and settlement unit of JPX, and a corporation he was involved in the establishment and launch of from 2002 to 2003.
Mr. Tamura graduated from Yokohama City University with a Bachelor of Commerce.

Shun Yanagisawa

Japan Head of Futures, Clearing and FX Prime Brokerage
Markets 

 

Shun Yanagisawa is the Japan Head of Futures, Clearing, and FX Prime Brokerage within Citigroup's Markets division. With over two decades of extensive industry experience, he oversees a broad portfolio including Prime Brokerage across FX, Equities, and Fixed Income and Futures, and Futures and OTC Clearing.
 

Mr. Yanagisawa is a prominent advocate for the stability and development of the derivatives and clearing ecosystem. He actively participates in public roundtables and holds influential positions in various industry organizations, including serving as an elected board member and chairman of the

 

Operations Committee of FIA Japan, a member of the interest rate swap steering committee at JSCC, an advisory board member of Risk.net ASIA, and a member of several ISDA working groups.
Prior to joining Citi, he held sales and marketing roles at JPMorgan in Japan for over eleven years.
