Japan Welcomes Foreign Asset Managers to Participate in Financial Markets

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government, in cooperation with the Financial Services Agency, released an English guidebook to support foreign Asset Managers entering the Japanese market. The renewed guidebook reflects changes in the international financial environment. It introduces the attractiveness of Tokyo as a financial market, the support measures available for asset management and FinTech companies, as well as easy-to-understand explanations of Japanese financial laws, regulations and business registration procedures.

FIA Japan Chairman Richard “Chip” Clairmont made the following comments: “This 56-page official guidebook targeting foreign companies is exceptionally well prepared and structured. It is extremely valuable as a resource to learn how to access the Japan asset management industry. FIA Japan not only supports but applauds TMG and FSA in their efforts to attract foreign players and further develop the Japanese financial markets.”
